Anything that's pertaining to electronics, I always purchase protection plans because I know that their life span is not the greatest these days. Also, when dealing with the kids, if they do anything that they're not supposed to be doing, I need for it to be covered well. Their claim process has been very simple. No complaints pertaining to filing a claim. It has always been easy. If they had to send me to a location to get it repaired or if it wasn't able to be repaired, they would give me the option to send a check or a gift card. I've spoken with customer service a couple of times and the experiences have been great.

I purchase the Allstate protection plan as often as possible as long as I feel the price is reasonable. Just recently, I ordered a part that was $20 with a $12 protection plan. I figured, "Well, that's just over half of it, so I'll skip it." The claim submission process with Allstate is really easy. The one time that it got a little bit complex was when I was dealing with a cellphone that just got brain dead on me. They asked me to go to an in-network cellphone repair place and the address that I received from their list was a warehouse-type place. Then, they gave me another address in a mall that was farther from my area and they told me that they couldn't help.

There are a couple of different letdowns. Initially, they told me to contact Google because it was a Google pixel phone and get some kind of paperwork statement from them saying it's out of warranty. The phone is several years old. It's clearly out of warranty, but I went through that hassle. So, it was pretty time-consuming, even travel-wise. Ultimately, I gave them all the information of all the rejections that I got from trying to repair it and they said, "Okay. Well, then we'll write you a check." Everything else gave me absolutely no extra worker issues.

When I purchase my warranty, I have the option to come back within 30 days. I might have done that one time but usually, I confidently just purchase it as I'm getting the product because I don't trust myself to remember to come back in 30 days. It's very valuable because when it comes to electronics, especially nowadays, you never know what to expect, even if it's like a brand name like Apple and things wear out and the consumer doesn't know how long it's meant to last. So, I love that Allstate offered like two and even three-year protection plans because that's when things start to happen.

I bought a 50-inch Samsung television for my mom at Sam’s Club and submitting the claim went well. I didn’t know who to call because I had all of the information written down on my receipt for Samsung. So I called them. Then, I called Sam’s Club and they told me to call Allstate. Once I did, I didn't expect them to tell me to send an email. So it was a new process, but I could understand it. I didn't wanna do that extra stuff but it was more helpful because when we do the email and then send the actual photo, the repair people know what they need to do when they come out. So the process was very smooth.

The representative was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful, and explained everything. When I was talking to them, I was also talking to my mom at the same time. So it was a little confusing for me. But the representative was very helpful. They sent the email immediately. I sent the wrong thing initially. I only sent photos and a day later, they responded and told me to send a video. It was very efficient and their response was very quick. It was just a matter of a couple of days. And before you know it, within two or three days, my mom had a brand-new TV. So, it was wonderful. That warranty is still good until 2026. Four years for $50 in this day and age was a great deal. I don't have to keep buying TV. I was thankful for that process because I don't know how it works now with repairs.

The team worked efficiently and was very helpful and stood by that warranty. I felt very lucky because it was just thrilling to know. The TV fits on the same mount. It wasn't heavier even though it was slightly thicker in the back. So it was easy for me to mount. I got thin TVs because I'd like to be able to do it by myself. I don't wanna have to hire someone to put it up. There are some new mounts that are making it easier. So you pop it on. I've been able to do those over the years. But so far, everything has been great with my mom's TV. And I appreciate the warranty coverage. My sons were surprised because Allstate was sitting with me when I was making the phone call. They think in terms of cars or homeowners so that surprised them. I've shared it and I told my mom, she was happy about it too. Allstate has got a great name.

I used to have car insurance for years and I'm glad that they've expanded to this because it was helpful. I'm hoping that they make money where some of the TVs last for four years and some TVs sometimes don't. The TV was weird. Half of it was getting darker. My sons noticed it but my mom didn't notice it the first week. So it was perfect timing by the time the actual TV arrived to replace it because the right side was almost completely black. So, I'm very happy. A lot of people are like me and never get a warranty. I'll never get it for small items, like a $50 item but for an item like a TV that I use every day, I'll get it. I would encourage my family to do the same thing. So I'll mention it to my family and my siblings.

I recently had to put a claim in because I spilled some black coffee on my computer. I took it in to get looked at and get an opinion. Allstate said I'd need a whole new board and to get the board would have cost $1,300. At first, they said that was what I needed to do. So I was thinking they could pay me and I'll get a different computer at that price because my computer value was 1,499. I went after them again. It was interesting that Allstate gave me different answers such that they were gonna have to try to get the parts or have to take my computer back to where I had it looked at and have them order the parts. Then when I just didn't think that was a good idea and I called back, someone had decided that they would give me a refund. I didn't have to push too hard but it was just weird that I got two different answers. But I was glad with the second answer they gave me.

I was glad to find out that I had this policy that covers spills. It was the first time I've ever spilled anything on a computer. It saved me $1,400 and I was able to get a new computer. Allstate did a refund without giving me too much hassle and my check came quickly. Initially too, they told me that I would have to ship my computer to them. And then I called them back and said I didn't like that idea. I asked if I could take it to some place in my area and they said I could do that and make sure it's a reputable place. So they were open to suggestions for doing something different.

When I bought the new computer, they didn't give this plan with it because I bought another one at Costco. But I purchased a policy with Allstate that covers spills and damages. A lot of them don't cover spills. And you just never know when that could happen. If something like that happens on a keyboard, you might as well call it quits. The price is reasonable. I paid this time 99 for two extra years of coverage.

I found out on most of my products I never have to use Allstate Protection Plans 90% of the time because the products are good. I purchased it on certain things that go outside like game cameras and things that take a rougher environment. The two times I used them, they were good. But they need to have some way to connect them with the product I purchased them with. When I buy a plan, they don't put on the plan what item is on it. I have to tag everything together and that's the drawback of Allstate. Even when I buy it from the store, if I don't staple for it all together or write everything on the pamphlet and put the receipt together, I'm screwed. It's a big process. And I gotta put it all in my file cabinet. It's awful.

I found that if I don't do it right then and there and correctly, I would not know what product it goes with. And when I'm shopping on Amazon and I may purchase three or four of them together, how could I tell which one went where? It shows the amount of money that it goes between the spread of amount of money that I purchased it. But it doesn't make sense. It's awful and it's frustrating sometimes. So, I couldn't print all this stuff out and put it on my printer and be able to go back to it easily and find out what goes where. I've done it for a while and I figured it out, but I would staple it all together and put it in my file cabinet with my paperwork for my item with Allstate. There was no secret number that went with what I bought with it in the early days.

The last thing I did was I had to return a printer. I called Allstate and told them about the issue I had. They sent me a voucher through my email to get another printer and told me to do whatever I wanted to with the printer I had. They didn't want me to send the thing back to them. Cost them too much money. I had to come out of pocket just a bit, but not much.

I have multiple items with Allstate Protection. One of my recent ones is a game system. I got the plan for it to make sure that it can be replaced if it malfunctions within the first few years because most electronics do. I went online and filed a claim. They asked me some information about what was going on with the device. After that, they let me know my options. Recently, my Switch went down, and instead of them just giving me a refund for it, they told me I had to send it in. I didn't like that they were not sending me anything to send it in.

My concerns for other people and even for myself, is if I don't have it at the time to send a box with technology in it to them to get fixed, which would cost me money, that means I won't be getting it fixed off the warranty. They keep the claim open until they feel like you're supposed to send it. I'm having a little difficulty with that one right now, but most of the claims have been easy. They just tell you the refund amount and give it to you at the store. Most of my purchases are at Walmart. So, they give me a Walmart card, and then it goes from there.

When I was having trouble with my Switch, I contacted services. It frustrated me that day, and I haven't called back yet. I also sent an email, but I haven't gotten anything. The website is great. It would just be nice to have someone to chat with more. Also, if you wanna stop a claim, it has no option to stop the claim. It gives you an option to cancel the warranty, but if you wanna just stop a claim at that time, it's a little hasty for me to pay for me to send it in for them to see what's wrong with it, and then tell me if it's feasible enough or they're gonna send me back my money. Allstate is very beneficial. It's necessary. I love the amount because I got a fair price for the amount of years. I really enjoy and I'm gonna keep buying my protection plans especially from Allstate. I have multiple positive things to say about them.

The cooktop would turn on by itself, or it would turn off the burner I'm cooking on when I hadn't touched it or asked it to turn it off, or sometimes it could change the temperature. I went back to my eBay account where I had purchased it and it directed me as to how to do the claim. I had to send in a copy of my sales ticket then it sent me to another website. I called the other website and it opened up into an information page. I followed the directions on the information page and spoke to somebody. They told me to contact the manufacturer because it should have still been under warranty. It was only a couple of months old. This was a paint. I contacted the manufacturer and the only time I ever got a response from them was 4:00 in the morning.

The next night, I sent them an email. Within 30 minutes, I had a response. They wanted me to tell them what was happening and what I had done. Then the next contact said, "Stop using it immediately." I came out in the middle of the night to get a drink and all my burners were on. They were flaming red. It freaked me out. I even tried to lock it because there's a mechanism where you can push one of the sensors and it should lock the whole panel. The lock didn't even work. They wanted me to send them pictures of what the controls were doing. I sent them pictures and like I told them in the email, I said, "It's hard to send you pictures of something that does what it wants, when it wants." Sometimes it'll do it, sometimes it won't.

They asked me to have somebody come out and look at it, and I would pay for it then send them the bill. They said they would authorize $35. I said, "You're not getting anybody in this country to come out for $35." That was the first problem. I called a bunch of people and nobody had any information on this cooktop. I called electrical people because they wanted me to have somebody electrical come out. Then I started calling appliance people and the appliance people had never heard of this unit and didn't know where they would be able to get parts to fix it. Nobody wanted to come look at it. I told them that. Then they offered to send me 80 bucks and close the claim. I said, "No. I paid a lot more than $80 for this unit and I'm gonna have to buy another one." They're now over $250. They didn't even respond after that.

I went ahead and contacted Allstate again because I've done everything everybody asked me and I was still stuck. They said they were gonna pay what the claim was for and sent me $236 on a prepaid Mastercard. I have spent more than that buying another stovetop. But I'm good. The process was awesome and I understood why they had to send me to the manufacturer. I had a problem finding a 36-inch cooktop though and I ended up having to wait a little bit. I went directly to Allstate and bought a protection plan for my new unit because the people I bought it from on eBay did not offer an Allstate protection plan. I'm selling iPhones on eBay and some of them have a manufacturer's warranty left while some of them only have a partial manufacturer warranty left. I would like to be able to offer people a full warranty. I would like to know how we can offer Allstate to our customers.

Updated on 06/27/2024: I want to update that LS. and I have communicated via email. He has not been able to provide me with a satisfactory response yet on either the claim, the complaints, or the lack of follow up from Allstate. This public response is simply an act to make it seem like the company cares.

Original Review: Called to discuss a claim for my bed frame that was denied. 5 different service reps and 2 supervisors. Impossible to communicate with them since they kept repeating the same thing: "I understand your concern. There's nothing we can do." Even the supervisors have no power to assist in refuting denied claims. They simply said the back-end office reviews claims, and the supervisors are unable to communicate with them. No help received. Save your $50 and put it towards your next purchase. SquareTrade will not honor their contracts.

Purchased the plan for a couch that eventually had the springs in one cushion break. Tried multiple times to create an account on their website to file a claim, but every time it said that the email and password did not match for the account, even though I had just created it and literally copy/pasted the password. I then tried to chat with an individual by their chat option because they don't give a phone number on their website. I was told they were having problems with their website and to try later. Tried multiple times over multiple weeks only to get the same issue, so I eventually tried chatting again and was finally offered a phone number. By the time I was able to file a claim over the phone I was told my claim was instantly denied because the 30 day requirement was already passed. Scam artists.

I purchased a Dell computer with a two year warranty by Allstate / Square Trade. One year into the warranty the computer stopped booting up. I opened the claim and sent the computer in. They soon sent me an email stating the computer had physical damage and could not be warrantied. They attached a picture showing the bottom of my computer being bulged up. The computer absolutely did not look like that when I shipped it out. Looking at the picture it seemed that the battery may have swelled up and caused it to bulge during shipping. This I would think would be covered under the warranty. It is a common problem and I seen it happen before on a work computer.

They immediately shipped it back without being fixed. The so called damage they sent a picture of was not even present when I got the computer back. One question I had was it even my computer they sent the picture of. I tried to refile the claim to send it back and they refused. They stated physical damage was present and there is nothing they can do. No matter how much I argued and even explained that one, a swelling battery would do this and two this is not even present in my computer that was returned to me. There is no physical damage to this PC present. Did not matter. They told once damage was documented there was nothing they could do? So now I have a useless paperweight. I have already filled a claim with the Better Business Bureau.
