She was a resident of Franklin. She was born Feb.

17, 1931, in Franklin. Her parents were Edward C. and Edna M. (Craig) Wolfs- chlag. She mar- BAILEY ried Warren L.

BAILEY Bailey. He preceded I her in death March 16, 1974. Survivors include a daughter, Judy A. Gregory of Providence, R.I.; three sons, Joseph L. Bailey of Whiteland, Mark D.

Bailey of London, England, and Scott E. Bailey of Flower Mound, Texas; a sister, Mary Lou Norton of Franklin; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen "Patty" Mitchell; and one brother, Robert A. Wolfschlag. She was employed as a sales clerk for several years by L.S.

Ayres and Co. in Greenwood. She was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Sigma in Shelbyville. She enjoyed gardening, and she was an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan.

The Rev. Paul Shikany will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Monday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at VanPelt Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be made to VistaCare Foundation, 8325 S. Emerson Suite B-1, Indianapolis, IN 46237. GREENWOOD Mary Kathryn Bensheimer BENSHEIMER Mary Kathryn Bensheimer, 77, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Greenwood.

She was born April 11, 1924, in Whiteland. Her parents were George Otis and Edith Mae (Kinnick) Tearman. She married Oral BENSHEIMER Bensheimer on Oct. 22, 1943, in Whiteland. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Larry W. Bensheimer of Franklin Ruth Ann Bailey, 70 Greenwood Mary K. Bensheimer, 77 Irene H. Bowen, 87 Gwendolyn U. Gates, 93 Shirley L.

Huffman, 62 Indianapolis Delores M. Daeger, 78 Trafalgar Clarence "Jay" Napier, 69 Elsewhere Donald N. Langley, 91 Boggstown and James D. Bensheimer of Ellettsville; one daughter, Marilyn K. Hiser of Bargersville; three sisters, Bessie Klostermeyer of Waldron, Joan Spicer of Princeton and Phyllis Bradfield of Hope, seven grandchildren; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Tearman, Robert Tearman and Charles Tearman; one sister, Wilma Basham; and a grandson, Jasper Carter, on July 5, 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Honey Creek United Methodist Church in Greenwood and the church's Ladies Aid. The Rev. Elizabeth Gordon Smith will conduct a service at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in White River Township.

7, 2001, at The Waters of Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenwood. She was born July 17, 1914, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Blaine and Dalta Effie (Neligh) Barker. She married Ronald "Russell" Bowen.

He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, William T. Harrell of Clayton; a daughter, Jean Gaughan of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was employed as a clerk by Vondupron Corp. A service will be conducted at 1 p.m.

He said masked pirates boarded Blake's yacht at its anchorage in the mouth of the Amazon River near Macapa on Wednesday night, intending to rob it. "They were probably attracted by the boat's shiny appearance. They saw it was a rare boat, owned by a foreigner, so they figured there was money aboard and lots of expensive equipment," Araujo said. She was a resident of Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Leo A. and Clara E.

(Munier) Daeger. Survivors include two brothers, Roland G. Daeger of Greenwood and Eugene H. Daeger of Indianapolis; 12 nieces and nephews; and 24 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann (Daeger) Meyer; and a brother, Paul Daeger.

She was a 1941 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper for 14 years by Bobbs Merril Shell Oil Station, for 16 years by Dow Chemical Co. and for four years by The Double Eleven Credit Union, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a 50-year member of the Lysanderian Club and a member of the Class at 41'ers of Sacred Heart High School and Our Lady of the Greenwood Keenagers.

She was a seamstress, avid organist and genealogist. She was working on the Daeger family tree, which went back to the 1700s. A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m.

Sunday at Lauck Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Building Fund. GREENWOOD Gwendolyn U.

Gates Gwendolyn U. Gates, 93, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at University Heights Healthcare Center in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenwood. She was born in Kansas City, Kan.

Her parents were Henry and Annette (Stephens) Umlauf. She married Glen B. Gates on Dec. 31, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Marvel of Greenwood; a sister, Imogene Shannon of Kansas City, two grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She was employed for 10 years as a private secretary by the Victor L. Phillips Co. in Kansas City, Mo.

She was a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Indianapolis, Delta Theta Tau sorority and the GreenwoodWhite River Optimism Club. The Rev. Norm Morford will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Wilson St.

Louis, MO 63108. GREENWOOD Shirley L. (Ward) Huffman Shirley L. (Ward) Huffman, 62, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his residence in Greenwood.

She was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Cletus and Cora Ward. She married James Huffman on Feb. 14, 1976.

He survives. Other survivors include a son, Fritz Huffman of LaGrange, three daughters, Susan Ragan of Bargersville, Peggy Lair of Greenfield and Karen Smedley of Salem; two brothers, Roy Ward of McCordsville and Bill Ward of Avon; a sister, Joan Andrews of Greenwood; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. was a graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis. She was employed as a cook for 20 years by Winchester Village School, retiring in 2001. She was also employed as a cook for 14 years by Beech Grove schools.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and Beech Grove Chapter 465 OES. The Rev. David Schnepf will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Monday at Wilson St.

BLOOMINGTON Donald N. Langley Donald N. Langley, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care Facility in Bloomington. He was a resident of Bloomington.

He was born Nov. 27, 1910, in Edinburgh. His parents were George and Lilly (Needham) Langley. He married Edith Langley. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Donald Lee Langley of Mexico; a sister, Rebecca Imogene Langley of Bloomington; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Sue Edwards; one brother, Delmar Langley; and two sisters, Bonnie Nadine Miller and Edna Langley. He was employed as a concrete mason. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church. He was a U.S.

Army veteran of World War II. The Rev. Tom Ellsworth will conduct a service at 2 p.m. Monday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary in Bloomington. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m.

TRAFALGAR Clarence 'Jay' Napier Clarence "Jay" Napier, 69, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Beech Grove.

He was a resident of Trafalgar. He was born June 19, 1932, in Scottsville, Ky. His parents were Walter W. and Beulah (Duke) Napier. He married Frances (Noah) Napier on March 20, 1954.

She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Michael Napier of Jacksonville, and Robert J. Napier of Trafalgar; three daughters, Davina Jackson, Regina Cox and Neva J. Napier, all of Indianapolis; four brothers, Hubert Napier of Scottsville, Larry Napier of Indianapolis, Ewing Napier of Greenwood and Bruce Napier of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Loretta Goutier of Indianapolis; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eunice Purdue and Louella Napier.

He was employed for 28 years by Naval Air Warfare Center, which later became Raytheon, retiring in April 2000. He was a member of Gethsemane General Baptist Church. He was a bass singer with the Gethsemane Quartet. The Rev. Marion Glover will conduct a service at 1 p.m.

at Singleton and Herr Mortuary in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions can be made to Coffee House at the Worship Center in Beech Grove.
